Growing Signs
Monique Paulson has worked with children of various abilities for the past 13 years as an Early Childhood Educator. She began her career with a certificate in American Sign Language Studies which enabled her to work at a summer camp for Deaf and hearing children. After such a wonderful experience using this language to communicate with the children, she chose to enter the field of Early Childhood Education. Using her background in American Sign Language studies, Monique has had the opportunity to share this beautiful language with young children, families and staff in her preschool classrooms. She is also the mother of 2 young girls (ages 7 and 4) who she of course signed with as babies! They have grown up with a love for ASL, which will hopefully continue for years to come.
"In order to share the idea of using sign language as a communication tool in the early years, I became a member of Sign2Me in 2004. I am so glad I chose this program because of their strong base in using true ASL, high quality products and a very supportive company. I am proud to be a part of such a professional group of educators and this has inspired me in so many ways with my classes. Now 4 years later I am the Regional Coordinator for Western Canada. I love being there to help guide my fellow “co-workers” and in the process I have learnt a lot from all of them. Thank-you Sign2Me!"
